IAFFE Feminist Economics School

The Feminist Economics School brings together 20-30 early career scholars, practitioners, activists, and policymakers engaged in research and action related to issues of concern to feminist economics, but who have had little or no formal access to training in feminist economics. Over the one-and-a-half days of workshops, participants gain a grounding in key aspects of feminist economics thinking, methodologies, and policy applications through reflection on their own practices and experiences.

The School offers participants a unique opportunity to augment their expertise through formal training in feminist economics, to bridge the gap between theory and real-world impact, and to meet leading Feminist Economists.

IAFFE’s Feminist Economics School Committee defines the topics and programmes for  Feminist Economics Schools. Any IAFFE member may join the Committee.

The Feminist Economics School Committee will announce a Call for Applications for the 2025 school in September.

Our 2nd Feminist Economics School, held on July 1-2, 2024, brought together 30 participants from 19 countries for an introductory exploration of Feminist Economics.

Over the one-and-a-half days of workshops organized by facilitators Kate Bahn, Stefania Marchina, and Luiza Pires, with the support of James Heintz and the Feminist Economics School Committee, participants gained a grounding in key aspects of feminist economics thinking, methodologies, and policy applications through reflection on their own practices and experiences.

The IAFFE School in Feminist Economics was held in Cape Town, South Africa, on 4-5 July 2023.
