Mentorship Program

IAFFE’s mentorship program is designed to support the development and growth of the next generation of feminist economists. The program provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights, guidance, and support. It aims to enable participants to obtain and retain desired positions in academia, policy-marking, and advocacy by improving research skills, publications and professional competencies.

IAFFE is recruiting mentors and mentees for the next cohort of its mentorship program!

The program brings IAFFE members together in the form of small pods to activate learning, support and connection that foster personal and career growth between mentors and mentees. Mentorship program commitment is approximately three hours per month for one year. This next cohort will run from October 2024 through October 2025.

  • To participate as a MENTOR, please complete this brief form by July 31st.

    • Mentors are expected to be well established in their feminist economics career (including with a substantial publication record if their career is in academia). They should also be an active IAFFE member, and expect to proactively ensure their pods stay engaged throughout the year.

  • To sign up as a MENTEE, please complete this form by August 9th

    • Mentees are expected to already be committed to feminist economics through their studies (graduate degree or higher) or current work. They should have a foundational understanding of feminist economics, and be seeking support to advance in their careers.  Mentees should expect to attend and help plan and coordinate any pod activities and support fellow members.

The mentorship program aims to create an inclusive and participatory mentoring process that instills a sense of belonging and generates new questions, methods, and partnerships for conducting feminist economic research and action. Please contact the Mentorship Program Coordinator, MaryBeth Bognar [email protected], with any questions.
